The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry of Kenya (the Ministry) and AIM Climate (an Aim Carbon group company) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Memorandum) aimed at enhancing cooperation in environmental conservation efforts. The Memorandum outlines shared commitment of both parties to implement sustainable practices and address pressing climate change issues.
According to the document, the Ministry and AIM Climate arranged to plant and grow up to 20 % of the trees for purposes of working with the Government of Kenya in the 15 Billion trees program. As part of the collaboration, Ministry will take on the responsibility of overseeing the detailed project design document, ensuring that all initiatives align with the national legislation, including Climate Change Policy and the long term Low Emissions Development Strategy 2022-2050.
AIM Climate, in turn, is expected to guarantee and provide the program with the required financial and management resources in order to achieve the goals of the intended cooperation.
This partnership marks a significant step forward in fostering international cooperation to combat climate change. By working together, the Ministry and AIM Climate are poised to make a meaningful impact on environmental sustainability in Kenya and beyond.
